Why does my new Cubii product look like it's not charging?

Upon first use, you will need to charge the unit for up to 6 hours. The monitor does not turn on while charging. To turn on the monitor, you will need to press the 'Mode' button, or start pedaling. The monitor also shuts itself off after a few minutes of inactivity.
